The Korea Hanwoo Association announced on the 18th that it held a pop-up store at the 'Summer Beat Fest 2024,' which took place on June 13-14 in Lan Kwai Fong, a popular youth street in Hong Kong, to promote Hanwoo beef.
The Hanwoo Association collaborated with Brightzone, an importer of Hanwoo, and Galbitown, a top Hanwoo retailer in Hong Kong, to showcase convenient Hanwoo dishes such as Hanwoo sirloin cube steak, Hanwoo sweet and sour pork, Hanwoo burger, Hanwoo bulgogi sandwich, and Hanwoo japchae.
In front of the Hanwoo booth at the 'Summer Beat Fest 2024' held in Lan Kwai Fong, Hong Kong, a foreigner is taking a photo with a Hanwoo burger.
In addition, linked with the pop-up store, the Hanwoo promotion booth offered prizes to Hanwoo buyers and emphasized the Hanwoo traceability system and the excellent brand image of Hanwoo through a quiz event.
The Hong Kong export project is being promoted by the Hanwoo Association and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs using Hanwoo self-support funds. Thanks to these efforts, as of the first half of this year, exports have reached 22.6 tons, a 4.3% increase compared to the same period last year, to four countries including Hong Kong, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Mongolia.
Meanwhile, to expand exports to Hong Kong, the Hanwoo Association held a seminar on June 12 in cooperation with the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Hong Kong, focusing on the current status and activation plans for Korean livestock product exports, and conducted a plaque presentation ceremony for five top retailers in Hong Kong.
