Nowon-gu (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) visited flood-prone areas at 9:45 a.m. on the 18th to inspect damage and prepare countermeasures in response to the heavy rain warning issued for the Seoul area.
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, conducted a focused inspection centered on the road in front of the Coupang Logistics Center in Wolgye-dong, where damage was reported the previous day. This site had no flood damage until last year, and this year’s first reported damage has prompted special attention. The district plans to check the full capacity of the sewage pipes due to the rising water level of the Jungnangcheon Stream, conduct facility inspections, and establish countermeasures.
The district has organized 12 task forces under the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters led by the district mayor, operating a 24-hour emergency contact system in response to weather changes. Comprehensive flood and wind disaster measures will be implemented and the response system maintained until October.
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, said, "This summer is expected to have continuous heavy rain," adding, "We will continue thorough preparation and swift response to protect the safety and property of our residents."
