Soonchunhyang University Cheonan Hospital Assigns Executive Professors to Night Emergency Room

Soonchunhyang University Cheonan Hospital, which faced the risk of suspending night emergency room operations due to the resignation of its emergency medicine specialists, has responded by deploying department head professors to manage the urgent situation.

According to Soonchunhyang University Hospital, since the 16th, four emergency medicine specialists have submitted their resignations, resulting in the regional emergency medical center being operated on a limited basis. From the 16th to the 17th, the 24-hour operation of the regional emergency medical center was suspended, and starting from the 17th, night services after 8 p.m. are expected to be unavailable.

In response, the hospital operated the regional emergency medical center by having two department heads from internal medicine and surgery take on-duty shifts.

The hospital is continuing to persuade the resigned specialists to stay, while also beginning the process of recruiting new professors. In addition, Soonchunhyang University Medical Center (Seoul, Bucheon, Gumi hospitals) is also reportedly considering cooperative support measures.

A hospital official stated, "We are doing our utmost, beyond our limits, to protect the regional emergency medical system."
