Jido-eup 'Lailak Jeongwon' Phase 1 Completion Ceremony Held
Shinan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Park Woo-ryang) announced on the 18th that on the 15th, a commemorative ceremony for the first phase completion of the 'Lilac Garden' in Jido-eup was held with the attendance of the governor, provincial and county council members, and local residents.
The Lilac Garden, which held the completion ceremony, is a representative garden of Jido-eup under the "One Island, One Garden" project of the 1004 Islands, with a total project cost of 4 billion KRW. The project started with site development in 2020 and was completed over four years by 2023.

Additionally, a themed forest trail including Lilac Garden, Silk Tree Road, and Baby Camellia Road was created in a vast area of 280,000㎡ (85,000 pyeong) around the nearby Jangdong Reservoir, where a total of 288,000 plants such as Summer Lilac and Willow Lythrum were planted.
Governor Park Woo-ryang said, “I thank the residents of Jido-eup, especially those of Jangdong Village, who endured inconveniences during the construction period and those who generously gave up their precious land that they had cultivated throughout their lives. We will continue to manage the Lilac Garden so that you can see a garden that develops even more than it is now.”
