Providing Customized Healthcare Services for Residents in Medically Underserved Areas
Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 18th that it is operating the Jeonnam Health Bus, which visits residents in medically underserved areas.
The visiting Jeonnam Health Bus project involves personnel from public health center home-visit health services and the dedicated team from Gangjin Medical Center visiting senior centers in vulnerable areas with a high population ratio of those aged 65 and older who do not receive adequate medical benefits, providing mobile medical care.

The medical services include △basic tests such as blood pressure and blood sugar measurement △body fat and bone density tests △oral examinations △traditional Korean medicine treatment △health consultations, among others.
Additionally, various health education programs are conducted, including cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease prevention education for chronic disease management and complication prevention, as well as promotion of national cancer screening.
This project began as a pilot operation in November last year, and this year it visits eight senior centers in the jurisdiction once or twice a month to provide medical services.
