Daedeok-gu in Daejeon Changes Design of Pay-As-You-Throw Trash Bags

Improved Visibility, English Notation, and Pictograms Inserted... Existing Envelopes Still Usable

Daedeok-gu in Daejeon Changes Design of Pay-As-You-Throw Trash Bags

Daejeon Daedeok-gu announced that it will completely change the design of volume-based waste bags to promote the correct method of household waste disposal and to improve convenience for residents.

The previous volume-based waste bags had small font sizes and an excessive number of instructional numbers, making it difficult for residents to understand how to properly dispose of household waste.

In the new design, the number of words has been significantly reduced, and a QR code has been added at the top of the bag, allowing users to check information such as the sales price of the bag, the method of household waste disposal, and the collection schedule.

Additionally, the types of waste prohibited from being disposed of in the volume-based waste bags are now illustrated with pictograms for easier understanding. English instructions have also been included to help foreign residents and multicultural families in Daedeok-gu understand the proper disposal methods.

The newly designed volume-based waste bags will be introduced this month and will be available for purchase at supermarkets, convenience stores, and other designated sales locations in Daedeok-gu. The sales price remains unchanged, and the existing bags can continue to be sold and used until supplies run out.

Choi Chunggyu, head of Daedeok-gu Office, said, "We hope that the new design of the volume-based waste bags will help establish a proper culture of household waste disposal."
