On the 16th, JTBC's 'Sageon Banjang' broadcasted a report about a 'rude passenger' on the Gyeongchun Line subway train in the Seoul metropolitan area on the 14th. In the photos released that day, a man, presumed to be a male citizen, was lying deeply asleep on the subway seats barefoot, using them as a bed. On the floor, a pair of black slippers, believed to belong to this passenger, were neatly placed. The informant, Mr. A, said, "You shouldn't do this here," and tried to wake the passenger, but the passenger just glanced at Mr. A once and went back to sleep, making it ineffective.
Mr. A criticized, "Although it was early, there were people on the subway," adding, "It seemed like everyone was avoiding this passenger. I hope this never happens again. Consideration is basic."
Netizens who saw this reacted with anger, saying things like, "People like that should have their faces revealed to shame them or be heavily fined," "Unbelievable," "Is this their living room or what," "Looks like they drank all night and passed out drunk," "Pathetic," and "If they went back to sleep after being woken up, their conscience must be completely absent."
If you encounter a 'troublesome passenger' on the subway like this, you can report it through the 'Ttota Jiha Cheol' or 'KORAIL Subway Talk' apps. If the app is not installed, you can send a text message to the reporting center for each subway line by writing the car number, destination, car section, and complaint details, which are posted above the doors, automatic doors, or near fire hydrants.
