Sent to Prosecution for Joint Assault and Joint Threat
Perpetrator: "I Hit Because of Circumstances"
Teenage students who assaulted a female peer have been handed over to the prosecution and are under investigation.
On the 18th, the Suwon Western Police Station and YTN reported that teenage students assaulted a female peer in the underground parking lot of a building in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province. One of the perpetrators, A, called her friend B to film the assault, and threatened, saying, "Since you missed, move your hair," and "If you report this, I will ruin your life."
The victim, who was trembling with fear, visited a hospital after two weeks and was diagnosed with injuries requiring two weeks of treatment. The victim appealed, saying, "They said they hit me because my behavior made them feel bad," and "They thought hitting me was fun and kept filming the video."
As the controversy grew, A explained, "I hit her due to certain circumstances." The police, considering a high possibility of retaliation, took safety measures such as providing the victim with a smartwatch, and handed over two perpetrators to the prosecution on charges of joint assault and joint intimidation.
