Support for Pain Management of Low-Income Seniors by Startup Companies in Gwanak-gu

Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) received a donation of massage devices for pain health management from Pi Healthcare (CEO Park Seung-hwan) on the 16th, and is working to support health management for low-income vulnerable groups in the area.

Pi Healthcare is a startup company based in Gwanak-gu that was selected for the Gwanak-gu Startup Scale-Up program in the first half of 2022. The company has achieved continuous growth by receiving various grants aimed at stabilizing its business and discovering excellent technology-based ideas, and decided to give back to the local community by sharing with low-income vulnerable groups.

The near-infrared massage devices worth approximately 40 million KRW sponsored by Pi Healthcare will be delivered to vulnerable groups such as low-income elderly and middle-aged single-person households through the local community centers.

Park Seung-hwan, CEO of Pi Healthcare, said, “As the company has grown with a lot of support, I also wanted to help the local community,” adding, “I am pleased to make a meaningful donation to help elderly people and low-income vulnerable groups who have difficulties managing pain.”

Gwanak-gu supports venture companies through the ‘Gwanak S-Valley Startup Scale-Up X Demo Day,’ which simultaneously provides commercialization funds and investment attraction opportunities to promising venture companies located in the district.

The ‘Gwanak S-Valley Startup Scale-Up X Demo Day’ was held three times this year, with 22 companies competing by showcasing innovative technologies and business potential. The district provided a total of 300 million KRW in commercialization funds to 12 companies selected as finalists, accelerating the discovery of excellent startup companies and the creation of a startup ecosystem.

Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “I am grateful that a startup company that began in Gwanak-gu has grown and extended a warm hand to neighbors in need,” and added, “We will continue to actively support the strengthening of capabilities and stable growth of venture and startup companies through the establishment of a startup ecosystem in Gwanak-gu.”
