The names of the Suwon, Guri, Anyang, and Ansan Agricultural and Marine Products Inspection Offices under the Gyeonggi-do Institute of Health and Environment have been changed to the Southern, Northern, Eastern, and Western Agricultural Products Inspection Offices, respectively, starting from the 18th.
The Institute of Health and Environment explained that this name change signifies the expansion of safety management of distributed agricultural products throughout the entire province, moving beyond the limited scope centered on agricultural and marine products wholesale markets. It also aims to clearly distinguish between agricultural and marine product inspection tasks to enhance work concentration.
A representative from the Institute stated, "The renaming of the Agricultural and Marine Products Inspection Offices reflects the institute's commitment to ensuring that safer agricultural products are distributed to the residents."
Meanwhile, to manage the safety of distributed agricultural products by region, the Institute divides Gyeonggi-do into four zones, with each Agricultural Products Inspection Office responsible for safety inspections of agricultural products distributed within its jurisdiction, striving to enable residents to purchase agricultural products with confidence.
