Dongseo University, Dong-A University, and Sasang District Office Sign MOU to Strengthen Cooperation for 'Glocal University 30 Project'

Dongseo University (President Jang Je-guk), Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo), and Sasang-gu Office in Busan (District Mayor Cho Byeong-gil) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation for the Glocal University 30 Project at 2 p.m. on the 17th in the Global Room on the 11th floor of Dongseo University’s New Millennium Hall.

The signing ceremony was attended by key officials including Dongseo University President Jang Je-guk, Director of Planning and Research Cho Dae-su, Head of Industry-Academia Cooperation Hwang Ki-hyun, Deputy Head of Industry-Academia Cooperation Kwon Kyung-su, Dong-A University Vice President Kang Dae-seong, Director of External and International Affairs Park Hyun-tae, and Sasang-gu District Mayor Cho Byeong-gil.

Through this agreement, the two institutions will cooperate in the following areas: ▲Collaboration for the selection of Dongseo-Dong-A Glocal Joint University as a Glocal University ▲Cooperation for the successful implementation of the Glocal University 30 Project after selection ▲Joint research and sharing of human and material resources to address urban cultural regeneration and local issues ▲Other necessary matters related to the Glocal University 30 Project as deemed necessary by each participating institution.

President Jang Je-guk stated, “Signing this agreement with Sasang-gu Office will serve as an important foundation for building a cooperative system for Glocal Universities,” adding, “We hope to make significant contributions to regional development by engaging in practical cooperation across various fields through government-academia linkage.”

District Mayor Cho Byeong-gil said, “The selection of the Dongseo-Dong-A Joint University for the Glocal University 30 Project will be a great opportunity not only for the local economy but also for nurturing outstanding talent and overcoming the crisis faced by local universities. We hope this will become a model case of government-academia win-win cooperation through active support from the local government where needed.”

Dongseo University, under the vision of “Busan Open Joint University Realizing Mutual Benefits for Busan City and Universities Based on Integrated Industry-Academia Cooperation,” is formulating and implementing a Glocal University strategy together with Dong-A University and Busan City.
