Expected Achievements in AI Vision Solution Business
Camera module specialist Namuga announced on the 17th that the supply of 3D sensing modules for robot vacuum cleaners is increasing, driven by the rising sales of Samsung Electronics' next-generation robot vacuum cleaner ‘BESPOKE AI Steam’ released in April this year. Accordingly, the company expects significant sales and profits not only from its smartphone camera module business but also from its artificial intelligence (AI) vision solution business this year.
According to Namuga, the 3D camera sensing technology applied to robot vacuum cleaners has the advantage of enabling more precise recognition through visual data collection and analysis. Namuga’s 3D sensing modules for robot vacuum cleaners are evaluated as the optimal solution that meets the robot vacuum cleaner market’s demand for more precise sensing functions by enhancing distance measurement and obstacle recognition capabilities.
Sales growth through market share expansion in the robot vacuum cleaner market is also expected. Namuga explained that, in addition to Samsung Electronics, which is currently being supplied, major overseas home appliance companies in Europe and Japan are also paying attention to Namuga’s 3D vision solutions and are considering adopting next-generation models. Younggyu Kang, Namuga’s Vision Solution Development Team Leader, emphasized, "Next-generation vision solutions desired by customers are expanding to include spatial recognition technology sensors as well as curvature and hue recognition technologies, and in the case of robot vacuum cleaners, they must operate as accurately as sensor technology in autonomous vehicles." Team Leader Kang also added, "In addition to the products currently in mass production, more challenging next-generation solutions in terms of resolution and recognition rate are already being prepared for mass production."
Based on this, Namuga is preparing to transition into an AI vision solution specialist company. AI vision solutions refer to technologies that analyze video data using image processing and AI technologies to provide users with new experiences and value. According to the global market research firm MarketandMarkets, the global AI vision market size is expected to grow from $17.2 billion last year at an average annual rate of 21.5%, reaching $45.7 billion by 2028.
A Namuga official stated, "We aim to establish ourselves as a leading company in the rapidly growing vision solution market and expand new business sales to the 100 billion KRW level by 2027."
