Lotte Construction Opens Open-Concept Cafe Lounge at Headquarters Building

Lotte Construction announced on the 17th that it will open open-style cafe lounges for its employees.

Lotte Construction announced on the 17th that it has opened an open-style cafe called 'Castle Lounge' for employees on the first floor of its headquarters.

The lounges will be created in two locations on the first floor of the headquarters. The lounge names were decided through an internal contest for employees, resulting in "Castle Lounge" and "Leel Lounge." The Castle Lounge is currently in operation, and the Leel Lounge is scheduled to open at the end of August.

The Castle Lounge was designed to be a creative space where employees can share tastes and generate new ideas, beyond just a resting area. Various types of tables and seats, paintings, and plants were arranged. To enhance accessibility, it is styled as an open cafe and operated as a space where eating and drinking are allowed.

The lounges also serve as exhibition spaces. Using Lotte Group’s proprietary AI platform "iMember," works awarded in an internal contest that created poems on the theme of construction were exhibited, and employees shared know-how on AI utilization.

Along with this, Lotte Construction also opened an electronic library for employees. Previously, one book was provided from eight bestsellers (humanities, science, essays, etc.) twice a year, but the electronic library supports a wider variety of books and audiobook services.

To commemorate the opening of the electronic library, an internal event is being held until the end of this month where employees read books recommended by management and write reviews. In the future, events will be held with books recommended by employees.

A Lotte Construction official said, “We believe that employees must be happy for customers to be happy, and we are striving to improve welfare systems,” adding, “We plan to continue gathering employees’ opinions and prepare various welfare programs that can be practically helpful.”
