12 Ideas Including Anti-Drone Precision Strike System Awarded
Total Prize Money of 58 Million Won and Employment Document Exemption Benefits Provided

Hanwha Aerospace announced on the 17th that it held the award ceremony for the ‘2024 Aero Future Tech & Business Competition’ to discover talent in the domestic space, aviation, and defense sectors.


The ceremony, held on the 15th and 16th at the Hanwha Building in Jung-gu, Seoul, was attended by more than 60 people, including 20 teams who passed the document screening, as well as executives in charge of Hanwha Aerospace’s space business, aviation business, and defense business divisions.


From May 7 to 31, Hanwha Aerospace invited ideas applicable to the space, aviation, and defense business sectors in two categories: new technology and new business, targeting undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students from domestic universities. Out of a total of 126 submissions, 12 ideas were finally selected through the first document screening and the second on-site presentation.

In the new technology (Tech) category, the ‘Anti-Drone Point Strike System’ for protecting ground combat vehicles took first place, while in the new business (Biz) category, the ‘Space Debris Removal Business,’ which removes satellite debris by finely spraying liquid chemicals, won first place.


The winners will receive a total prize money of 58 million KRW and benefits such as exemption from document screening during recruitment. Additional support for research funding and collaboration with the research institutions to which the winners belong will also be considered.


A Hanwha Aerospace official stated, "We plan to enhance South Korea’s competitiveness in aviation, space, and defense by promoting various talent discovery and development programs, including this competition."
