Fruits of the Second IR Event Supported by the InnoBiz Association

The INNOBIZ Association announced on the 17th that Biospero Co., Ltd., which possesses human organ-on-a-chip technology, secured an investment of 1.2 billion KRW through the operation of an IR program for INNOBIZ companies with outstanding technology.

Last month on the 19th, the association held '2024 INNO-Wave,' an IR event providing practical investment opportunities by creating a meeting place between excellent INNOBIZ companies and venture capitalists (VCs).

Five (preliminary) INNOBIZ companies with excellent technology were selected to present and discuss with VCs, technology holding companies, and securities firms. Biospero Co., Ltd. was the first to successfully attract investment from the Korea Technology Finance Corporation's Venture Investment Center.

Human organ-on-a-chip technology replicates the structure and function of human organs or tissues on a microchip in an external environment. Biospero Co., Ltd. is characterized by having established an automated system considering scalability, convenience, and stability tailored to users' needs such as pharmacokinetic analysis and organ cultivation.

In particular, recent developments in the United States have established grounds for drug approval applications without animal testing, and various alternative technologies including human organ-on-a-chip are gaining attention. This is expected to gradually expand the market centered on the medical field, which is analyzed to have positively influenced the investment.

Kim Kyunghwan, CEO of Biospero Co., Ltd., said, "The results of our technological innovation efforts have borne fruit through the IR event conducted by the INNOBIZ Association," adding, "Through this investment attraction, we will devote ourselves further to technology development and become an innovative company representing INNOBIZ."

Jung Kwangcheon, president of the INNOBIZ Association, also stated, "I hope the remaining companies participating in this IR event will also achieve investment results," and added, "We will continue to actively discover innovative technologies driving the national economy and strive to provide practical support to our INNOBIZ companies and members from technology evaluation to IR events."
