Dongjak-gu, Seoul (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced on the 17th that it has expanded the installation of '112 Emergency Location Guide Signs' along the trails within the district to create safer hiking and walking paths.

This project was promoted to establish a system for the police to respond quickly in case of incidents or accidents within the Dongjak Chungyo Trail section, aiming to protect residents using the trails from crime.

This year, additional signs were installed at 32 locations over a total distance of 3.5 km along the Gogu Dongsan-gil, Noryangjin-gil, and Dongjak Maru-gil trails. The district plans to gradually expand the installation areas by securing project budgets in the future.

The signs contain essential information such as location name, location number, and the jurisdiction police precinct. They are designed to help residents quickly identify their current location and report emergencies. To ensure visibility at night, the signs are made with high-intensity reflective sheets and are attached to security light poles for easy identification.

Mayor Park Il-ha stated, “By expanding the installation of 112 Emergency Location Guide Signs, we will create trails where residents can walk with peace of mind,” and added, “We will continue to promote various projects to make Dongjak-gu a safe district free from crime concerns.”
