Actor Nam Yoon-su's donation of a kidney to his father has recently come to light, drawing attention.

According to Nam Yoon-su's agency, Agency Garten, on the 16th, Nam Yoon-su underwent kidney transplant surgery for his father on the 19th of last month. The agency told Yonhap News, "Nam Yoon-su completely halted his activities from early this year to prepare for the kidney transplant surgery," adding, "Both the donor Nam Yoon-su and the recipient, his father, have quickly recovered their health and have been discharged."

On the same day, Nam Yoon-su also shared on his Instagram, "I simply regarded it as something I naturally had to do," and expressed, "I am happy to have been able to give my father good days."

He continued, "I sincerely thank the fans who comforted me and the hospital staff who warmly welcomed me for several days," and said, "From now on, I want to be someone who can readily reach out in the face of fearful and hesitant moments. I also wholeheartedly support patients who are waiting for transplants."

The Catholic University Eunpyeong St. Mary's Hospital, where the surgery was performed, stated on Instagram, "Giving a part of one's body is much more difficult and frightening than one might think, but in the field of organ transplantation, we often witness moments where people willingly share their precious organs, smile, and comfort each other."

They added, "From the preparation process for the transplant surgery to the moment of recovery and discharge, actor Nam Yoon-su consistently showed a bright and positive attitude. We believe his radiant smile and kind heart, deeply caring for his family, brought about today's good outcome," and said, "Both the donor and recipient recovered quickly and were discharged in good health, and the medical staff also experienced a happy moment watching the family talk about a happy future."

Meanwhile, Nam Yoon-su, who debuted as a model in 2014, has appeared in dramas such as 'Human Class', 'Monster', 'Yeonmo', and 'Today's Webtoon'. He has also completed filming for the drama 'Love in a Big City'. The broadcast schedule is yet to be decided.
