Shocked as 200 Baby Crocodiles Cling to a 4-Year-Old Child's Body...

4-Year-Old Thai Girl Playing with Baby Crocodile Revealed
Shocking Spread on SNS... Mother Runs Crocodile Farm
"Baby Crocodile Doesn't Bite" vs "Still Dangerous"

In Thailand, a video showing over 200 baby crocodiles crawling all over the body of a 4-year-old girl has become a hot topic.

On the 16th (local time), Hong Kong's South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported that earlier this month, Thai woman Kwanludi Siripricha posted a video on social media showing her daughter playing with more than 200 baby crocodiles. The video shows the child innocently interacting with numerous baby crocodiles in a bathtub, and viewers have expressed shock at the sight of the child's body being completely covered by the crocodiles.

It turns out that Kwanludi operates a crocodile farm in Thailand. She told the local media ThaiChi8 News, "Since my daughter was 2 years old, she has enjoyed watching newly hatched reptiles swimming in the tank," adding, "The crocodiles are less than two weeks old and their teeth have not yet grown, so they do not bite." She continued, "I closely monitor her while she plays, and if there are any signs of danger, I will pull her out of the pool," and said, "As the baby crocodiles grow and develop more teeth and thicker skin, she will no longer be able to play with them."

Despite this explanation, Kwanludi has faced heavy criticism on local social media. One netizen expressed concern on X (formerly Twitter), saying, "Even if the baby crocodiles do not bite my daughter, the crocodile tank could be full of crocodile secretions and bacteria." Other criticisms included, "It's too dangerous," "It could give other children a wrong perception of the dangers of crocodiles," and "If anything happens to the young girl, the mother should be held legally responsible."

Thailand is one of the world's largest producers and exporters of crocodile products, including crocodile leather, meat, and other by-products. According to the Thai Department of Fisheries, over 1,000 crocodile farms produce 1.2 million crocodiles. Crocodile leather handbags sell for up to 2.4 million baht (approximately 92.4 million KRW), and crocodile meat commands prices of up to 300 baht per kilogram (about 11,500 KRW). Additionally, many crocodile farms are used as tourist attractions, playing a significant role in the economy.
