The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is launching research and development of region-specific ‘Gyeonggi Shared School Specialized Models’ to address local issues and prepare for future society.
On the 18th, the Office of Education announced on the 17th that it will hold an interim report meeting for the research and development (R&D) of the Gyeonggi Shared School Specialized Models at Marina Bay in Gimpo, where it will present the interim results of specialized model research conducted by leading education support offices since March and share application plans.
The Office of Education will apply the research and development models and hold a final report meeting in December based on the analysis of results such as student satisfaction, student growth level, and program appropriateness and effectiveness.
The Gyeonggi Shared School Specialized Models are pioneering shared school models linked with specialized institutions by field and region to solve local issues such as population decline and overcrowded classes and to prepare for future society. They are being developed by six leading education support offices in Gwangju Hanam, Gimpo, Seongnam, Yongin, Icheon, and Paju.
Looking at the development projects by education support office: ▲ Academic coaching program and multicultural student program (Gimpo Education Support Office) ▲ Character education program utilizing reading education and IT-based career education program (Gwangju Hanam Education Support Office) ▲ Digital semiconductor challenge program (Seongnam Education Support Office) ▲ Semiconductor program and small-scale school hub-type program (Yongin Education Support Office) ▲ Character education program and Icheon-type semiconductor program (Icheon Education Support Office) ▲ Interim research results of edutech and cultural arts programs (Paju Education Support Office).
Kim In-sook, the regional education officer of the Office of Education, said, "To professionally and comprehensively solve local issues and cultivate students’ future competencies, we will develop pioneering Gyeonggi Shared School models in connection with local experts, universities, and companies."
