The Presidential Office announced that it is on track to smoothly achieve its goal of expanding the after-school care program for elementary students, 'Neulbom School,' to all elementary schools nationwide starting from the second semester of this year.

Jang Sang-yoon, Senior Secretary for Social Affairs, held a briefing at the Yongsan Presidential Office on the afternoon of the 16th, explaining, "Neulbom School, which took its first steps in the first semester, is gradually settling in as it receives positive responses from the field."

According to the Presidential Office, the Korea Educational Development Institute conducted an online survey from May 31 for two weeks targeting 417 students and 1,051 parents from schools operating Neulbom School in the first semester. The survey showed that 82.1% of parents were satisfied. Student satisfaction was 87.6%.

Senior Secretary Jang emphasized, "Separately, parent satisfaction surveys conducted independently by each metropolitan and provincial office of education showed satisfaction rates ranging from a high of 98.7% to a low of 83.4%."

He also stated that through Neulbom School, 22,75 fixed-term teachers, about 3,500 operational staff, and approximately 14,000 Neulbom School instructors were employed, creating 20,000 jobs in the first semester of this year, adding, "Neulbom School is showing positive effects on job creation and inter-agency cooperation."

Senior Secretary Jang added, "Considering the current trends and preparation status, we expect that the goal of expanding Neulbom School to all elementary schools nationwide from the second semester can be smoothly achieved."
