On the 16th at 11 a.m., Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, conducted an on-site inspection of the ‘Nowon Water Park’ at Seoul National University of Science and Technology.
The ‘Nowon Water Park,’ scheduled to open on the 19th, was installed on the sports field of Seoul National University of Science and Technology. Covering a total area of 9,000㎡, it is filled with various water play facilities including three outdoor swimming pools, a lazy river, two air slides, and ten handle boats. The most popular ‘water slide (water sled)’ from last year has been extended by 20 meters to a total length of 100 meters.
This year, special efforts were made to enhance safety and convenience. Twenty safety personnel with professional qualifications are stationed at all times to strictly manage safety according to the depth of each pool and to maintain cleanliness. Dedicated filters are operated, and water quality is measured every two hours, with the status posted so residents can check it directly.
During the on-site inspection, Mayor Oh Seung-rok checked overall safety facilities including the newly constructed water slide boarding area’s ‘shaded stairs,’ ‘plastic mats’ to prevent water pooling on the floor, ‘artificial turf’ to prevent slipping, ‘eco-friendly wooden decks’ installed on the edges and entrance stairs of each pool, and various water play facilities.
Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, “This year’s water park has been given special attention to ensure that all residents can enjoy it in a safe and comfortable environment,” adding, “I hope many district residents visit the water park near their homes and have a refreshing summer.”
