Limitations in Business Expansion for the Comedy Sector
The representative performance venue of Asan, Chungnam, formerly known as 'Asan Comedy Hall,' has changed its name to 'Dogo Art Hall.'
Opened in 2014, 'Asan Comedy Hall' operated under its original name to reflect the region's unique characteristic of producing many comedians.
However, due to the limited potential for expansion in the comedy sector, comedy-focused performances disappeared after COVID-19, and the venue aimed to transform into a comprehensive cultural facility featuring various genres of art performances. Through a naming contest held at the end of last year, 'Dogo Art Hall' was finally selected.
With the partial amendment ordinance for the name change officially announced and enforced on the 15th, 'Dogo Art Hall' has now been reborn as a true representative performance and exhibition venue of the region.
A city official stated, "We ask for your continued interest and support so that Dogo Art Hall can establish itself as a cultural hub of the region, leading the performance culture and growing together with Dogo's tourist attractions."
Meanwhile, 'Dogo Art Hall' achieved a cumulative audience of 13,965 in the first half of this year, with two performances held each day on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
