Busan Urban Corporation, Ongoing Recruitment for Self-Reliance Preparation Youth and Purchase-Lease Housing Tenants

Rental Deposit 1 Million Won, Rent at 40% of Market Price

Applications Open from July 22... Fast Housing Supply

Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC) will begin accepting applications for tenants of purchased rental housing for self-reliant youth on a rolling basis starting from the 22nd.


This recruitment is designed to support housing stability for young people preparing for independence within five years after the end of foster care or after leaving child welfare facilities.


The rental deposit for self-reliant youth purchased rental housing is 1 million KRW, and the rent is set at about 40% of the market price, varying by property.


BMC plans to supply 30 units of purchased rental housing to reduce the housing cost burden for young people and actively support them in establishing an economic foundation for independence.


The available housing for this recruitment is located in various areas of Busan, including Geumjeong-gu, Dongnae-gu, and Sasang-gu.


In particular, the recruitment includes customized rental housing that provides practical assistance to self-reliant youth, such as the 'Single-Person Household Safety Complex Town' (located in Namsan-dong, Geumjeong-gu), which was jointly promoted by BMC and Busan City.


The 'Safety Complex Town' is a residence designed with crime prevention environmental design techniques, such as entrance control systems, sensor lighting, and CCTV, considering the safety of single-person households.


Eligibility is limited to unmarried young people without a home who meet the following criteria: ▲ Those whose foster care protection has ended or who have left a child welfare facility within the past five years ▲ Those who are scheduled to leave or have left a youth welfare facility within the past five years. The initial rental period is two years, and if renewal requirements are met, residents may stay for up to ten years. Kim Yonghak, President of Busan Metropolitan Corporation, stated, "We will strive to provide a comfortable and safe home for self-reliant youth taking their first steps as new members of society," adding, "We plan to continue supporting housing stability for self-reliant youth facing housing difficulties through rolling recruitment and customized supply of rental housing."


BMC also announced that if there is high demand, it will expand the supply scale to further strengthen support so that young people can become independent in a stable residential environment.
