Yongin City Greatly Improves Bus Stop Facilities at 'Yongin Severance Hospital'

Jung, who visited Yongin Severance Hospital in Jung-dong, Giheung-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, made a special request to the hospital. He asked to convey his gratitude to the city officials, saying, "Thanks to the newly installed bus stop by the city, commuting to and from the hospital has become much more convenient."

According to Yongin City on the 16th, the city replaced the Yongin Severance Hospital bus stop with a box-type bus shelter equipped with heating and cooling facilities earlier this month, spending a budget of 30 million won, and relocated it closer to the hospital entrance. This improvement and relocation were made with the consideration that many passengers using the bus stop are transportation-vulnerable individuals.

With the relocation of the stop, passengers’ travel routes have been shortened, and a 6-meter-long, 2-meter-wide box-shaped shelter-type bus stop was installed, allowing users to avoid extreme heat or cold. The shelter is also equipped with a Bus Information Terminal (BIT) and heated/cooled seats.

Six bus routes, including numbers 77, 21, 31-1, 5, 810-1, and 33-2, stop at this bus stop. The daily number of users is around 350. User satisfaction is high. A hospital official stated, "Patients visiting the hospital are even more grateful" and added, "The hospital’s recognition has increased, and we are thankful to the city officials."

Lee Sang-il, mayor of Yongin City, said, "We will continue to secure budgets for citizens using public transportation and install more bus stops that prioritize citizens’ convenience."
