Suwon City Launches 'Minsheng Regulation Innovation Promotion Team' on the 16th Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun is presiding over the People's Livelihood Regulation Innovation Promotion Team meeting on the 16th.

The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province has launched the ‘Civil Regulation Innovation Task Force’ to identify citizen inconveniences caused by regulations and develop improvement measures.

On the 16th, Suwon held an inauguration ceremony for the Civil Regulation Innovation Task Force in the city hall’s medium conference room, with 26 members including public officials, Suwon City Council members, research fellows from the Suwon City Research Institute, and external experts, officially commencing its activities.

The task force will have three working groups focusing on ▲Space (urban, architectural, green environment), ▲Economy (economy, taxation, general administration), and ▲Life (social welfare, safety, transportation).

The working groups will investigate and analyze key regulatory improvement tasks by sector, identify regulations that hinder the revitalization of the civil economy and civil regulation innovation tasks, and prepare improvement measures to propose to the government.

Additionally, the task force will classify regulations by the responsible entities for improvement, including those that Suwon City can improve independently, those that can be resolved through cooperation with Gyeonggi Province, and those to be proposed to the central government (central ministries) such as central laws, systematically discovering and improving regulations.

The task force will regularly conduct research activities by working group. A first performance report meeting will be held at the end of September to inform citizens of the progress. Subsequently, it plans to continuously propose regulatory improvement tasks and measures to the National Assembly and central government.

Mayor Lee Jae-jun of Suwon said, "To complete the great transformation of Suwon, we must first innovate regulations," and urged, "Let the Civil Regulation Innovation Task Force unite its efforts to realize regulatory reforms at a level unimaginable for local governments."
