Up to Two Traditional Businesses and Two Masters to Be Selected
Cheonan City, Chungnam Province, announced on the 16th that it is accepting applications for traditional businesses and master craftsmen candidates in order to discover and nurture traditional businesses and masters who preserve and succeed traditional cultural skills.
A traditional business must have been operating continuously in the same industry in the region for more than 20 years as of the announcement date, or have the potential to develop into a local tourism product.
A master craftsman must have been engaged in the relevant field for more than 15 years, have both resident registration and a business located in Cheonan City for more than 3 years, or be someone who preserves and succeeds traditional skills and techniques, setting an example in terms of technical level and character.
After document screening and on-site evaluation, Cheonan City plans to select up to two traditional businesses and up to two master craftsmen through the review and resolution of the Skilled Technology Promotion Committee in September.
Selected individuals will receive support such as the installation of a designation signboard, issuance of a designation plaque, and subsidies for facility improvement and equipment purchase.
