Kim Yo-jong "Leaflets Released Again... Prepare for a Horrible and Shocking Price"

Claiming Discovery of North Korean Leaflets, "Response Change Inevitable"

Kim Yo-jong, Deputy Director of the Workers' Party of Korea, issued another statement threatening the South just two days after her last warning. She claimed that additional leaflets were found in North Korean territory and warned, "They must be prepared for a dreadful and shocking price."

In a statement released on the 16th through the Korean Central News Agency, Deputy Director Kim said, "(Today) at dawn and in the morning hours, 29 large balloons carrying South Korean trash were again found near our country's southern border and some inland areas of strategic importance." She added, "They were counted as 10 in Cheorwon County, 8 in Sinpyeong County, 5 in Icheon County, 4 in Pangyo County, 1 in Goksan County, and 1 in Pyeonggang County, and are currently being searched, removed, and incinerated by specialized agencies."

Deputy Director Kim stated, "Reports of leaflet distribution have been received in several other areas," and "the work of specialized agencies is proceeding busily, and many areas are being sealed off, causing increased inconvenience to the people."

She particularly warned of provocations, saying, "It seems the situation has reached a point where we can no longer just watch." She issued a stern warning again, saying, "if the petty and dirty acts of South Korean trash continue, a change in our response methods will inevitably arise."
