Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 16th that it has opened the 'Jungang Mulbit Children's Park' located at 308-4 Kimryangjang-dong, Cheoin-gu, to the public starting from the 13th.

This park was created and donated to the city by the project implementer during the 'Yongin 8 District Housing Redevelopment Maintenance Project.' The city opened the entire park in conjunction with the opening of the water play area within the park on that day.

The park, developed on a 3,924㎡ site between Yongin DeMark Desiang Apartments and Cheoin-gu Office, features a 'Wall of Memories' displaying photos to recall the area's appearance before redevelopment, an outdoor fitness area equipped with exercise equipment, a playground, and a water play area.

The water play area includes features such as a water revolution, water fountains, and combination play structures, reflecting citizens' requests. Convenience facilities such as changing rooms, showers, and restrooms were also installed within the park.

Various trees have been planted throughout the park, and benches and outdoor tables have been installed. The flooring uses elastic rubber chips to ensure children can run and play safely without slipping accidents.

The city explained that the park's name was chosen through a public contest by combining the name Jungang-dong, where the park is located, with words symbolizing a clear and refreshing water playground.

The water play area operates daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It runs for 45 minutes each hour followed by a 15-minute break and is closed during lunchtime from noon to 1 p.m. It is temporarily closed every Monday and on rainy days for water quality management.

A city official said, "We will do our best to manage the water quality of the water play area in the park so that children can spend this summer cool and enjoyable."
