On the 15th, Hong Kong's South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported that a T-shirt printed with the photo was listed on Chinese online mall Taobao for 49 yuan (about 9,300 won) the previous day. This was only about two hours after the photo was released by the Associated Press (AP). SCMP commented, "This is the speed of China."

The T-shirt creator, Li Jinwei (25), said, "I made it as soon as I saw the news about the shooting," adding, "We have received over 2,000 orders from China and the U.S." Below the photo of former President Trump was his well-known slogan, "Make America Great Again," written in English. He added, "I can make a new T-shirt in 30 minutes." On another shopping platform, Pinduoduo, a black T-shirt printed with the words "Fight, Fight, Fight" was also listed for sale. Immediately after being shot, Trump clenched his fist and shouted "Fight" three times to the audience.

However, these T-shirts were reportedly removed from the shopping malls without any special explanation on the same day. On Weibo, the 'Trump T-shirt' became a hot topic from the previous day, and photos capturing the shopping mall listings circulated, but now all those screenshots have disappeared. Analysts suggest this is because China and the U.S. are clashing on every issue from security to trade amid strategic competition. Nevertheless, with the U.S. presidential election approaching, related product manufacturing and trading are increasing in China. Chinese economic media Yicai reported that the volume of U.S. election souvenirs traded within China in the first quarter of this year increased by more than 90% compared to last year.

Not only in China, but related T-shirts are also appearing rapidly on some U.S. online shopping malls like Amazon and in offline stores. Notably, famous content creators the 'Hodgie Twins' posted Trump T-shirts on X (formerly Twitter), stating, "All proceeds from the sale of this shirt will be donated to the Trump campaign." The Hodgie Twins are American stand-up comedians and conservative political commentators consisting of twin brothers Keith Hodgie and Kevin Hodgie. The product name of the T-shirt they posted is ‘Trump FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT T-Shirt.’ Additionally, a store in New Jersey was spotted selling T-shirts featuring the photo and the phrase "The shooting made me stronger."

Meanwhile, on the afternoon of the 13th at around 6:15 PM, Trump narrowly escaped a shooting at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. Despite bleeding from his right ear and cheek, he raised his right fist. The rally became chaotic due to the shooting, but Trump emerged from the podium, shook his fist toward the sky, and shouted "Fight." The photo capturing the scene was released by the AP and quickly became a hot topic, being called the "Photo of the Year" and selected for the cover of Time magazine’s August 5 issue.

U.S. media analyzed that this photo increased Trump’s chances of winning the presidential election. Political media outlet Politico explained, "Trump’s raised fist made history and redefined his candidacy," adding, "Sympathy for Trump is growing, making it more likely that more undecided voters will cast their ballots for him."
