POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks (Director Lee Dong-ryeol) actively took the lead in practicing local love by conducting a special indoor joint volunteer activity for local seniors at the Gwangyang-eup Office in Gwangyang City on the 13th.
Gwangyang Steelworks planned this volunteer activity by actively reflecting the opinions of the seniors in Gwangyang-eup and Gwangyang City, who wished to have longevity photos taken for the elderly at senior centers.

In particular, this joint volunteer activity was carried out with the participation of about nine talent volunteer groups engaged in various fields such as medical care, food, beauty, and cultural experiences, as well as National Assembly member Kwon Hyang-yeop, Mayor Jeong In-hwa of Gwangyang, and Director Lee Dong-ryeol of Gwangyang Steelworks, to help local seniors enjoy not only longevity photo shoots but also diverse benefits.
The Chalgak Photography Talent Volunteer Group, which took the lead in taking longevity photos for the seniors, provided hair, makeup, and shooting costumes together with the Haircut Talent Volunteer Group so that the seniors could leave behind a stylish appearance.
About 170 seniors engraved beautiful memories in photos along with their longevity photos, and the photos taken will be printed, framed, and delivered later.
Along with the longevity photo shoots, various volunteer activities carried out for the seniors also attracted attention. The Medical Talent Volunteer Group conducted basic health checkups such as blood pressure measurement and provided customized consultations for the seniors, while the Family Sharing Food Talent Volunteer Group and the Ppeongtwigi Talent Volunteer Group offered various snacks.
Additionally, the ▲Foot Massage Talent Volunteer Group ▲Knitting Talent Volunteer Group ▲Nail Art Talent Volunteer Group ▲Traditional Play Culture Talent Volunteer Group provided diverse services and attractions, bringing bright smiles to the faces of local seniors.
A senior from Gwangyang-eup said, “I thought it would be nice to have longevity photos taken once, but I never had the chance easily. Thanks to the POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks talent volunteers, I was able to leave memories,” and added, “I am grateful to Gwangyang Steelworks for responding to our request and giving us happy memories.”
Meanwhile, Gwangyang Steelworks is actively leading the spread of a sharing culture by carrying out various social contribution projects such as one-on-one laughter therapy closely with seniors, cherry blossom outings for seniors with dementia, and senior health management programs.
