The Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as the region’s only comprehensive economic organization, has played a central role in revitalizing the Busan economy and representing the interests of local businesses for over 130 years.
The Chamber is focusing on fostering the tourism and MICE industries, actively supporting the advancement of manufacturing into new industries, building collaborative systems between established companies and startups, expanding support systems for the startup ecosystem, and participating in social contribution projects.
President Lee stated, “I am delighted to sign this significant agreement with the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, led by our distinguished alumnus Chairman Yang Jaesaeng. The 'profit-oriented integrated industrial complex' model pursued by the Dong-A and Dongseo University alliance is directly connected to Busan’s business community. I hope this will be the first step in a virtuous cycle where school technology solves business challenges, contributes to profit generation, and leads to talent recruitment, ultimately fostering the co-development of local industry, academia, and the community.”
President Jang commented, “Chairman Yang Jaesaeng, who has ties with both Dong-A and Dongseo University, is preparing for the Glocal University 30 Project with his usual positive mindset of ‘It works, it works, it works even better.’ If we are finally selected for Glocal University 30, we will do our utmost to cultivate customized talent who can immediately excel in the field in connection with even more companies.”
Chairman Yang remarked, “I feel a bright future for Busan as Dong-A and Dongseo Universities are working together for regional development. As an alumnus, I am grateful and hope you continue to demonstrate your innovative capabilities. I believe the dedicated efforts of both presidents and all university members will yield excellent results. I hope you will succeed in being finally selected for Glocal University 30, marking the starting point of boundless progress.”
