Yeosu City’s ‘Rhythm of the Night, Yeosu Candlelight Concert’ Receives Praise

On the 11th, Candlelight and Classical Music Festival Lights Up Jongpo Marine Park at Night

Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) successfully concluded the ‘Rhythm of the Night, Yeosu’ Candlelight Concert held at Jongpo Marine Park on the 11th, receiving high praise from the audience.

According to Yeosu City on the 15th, the concert, held under the theme ‘Singing with Candlelight by Yeosu Night Sea,’ was free of charge for all seats and filled 65 minutes with 4,000 candles and high-quality classical performances.

In particular, ‘Dodam Ensemble,’ the country’s top performance team consisting of violin, cello, flute, and clarinet, performed about 10 pieces consecutively, starting with their own arrangement of Yeosu Night Sea, followed by popular movie theme songs loved by the public.

A tourist who watched the performance said, “I was disappointed that I couldn’t see the concert held in Busan, but I didn’t expect to see it in Yeosu,” and added, “The harmony of Yeosu Night Sea, candlelight, and classical melodies created a lingering impression that made it impossible to leave my seat. It was a beautiful and moving stage.”

An official from the city said, “A night ‘Marching Parade’ is scheduled for August,” and “We ask for the interest and support of Yeosu citizens and tourists.”

Meanwhile, Yeosu City was finally selected in January this year for the ‘Night Tourism Specialized City Development Project’ contest hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and plans to continuously provide differentiated night tourism content at locations such as Gukdong Port Waterfront Park, Namsan Park, and Jangdo Island, the Island of Arts.
