Hapcheon County Confirms Intense Excitement at National High School Soccer Tournament This Fall

Around 2,000 Participants from 38 Teams Compete

The 2024 Autumn National High School Football Tournament, which determines the strongest high school football team in Korea, is heating up in Hapcheon, Gyeongsangnam-do, the mecca of football.

Hosted by the Korea Football Association and organized by the Gyeongsangnam-do Football Association and the Hapcheon-gun Football Association, this tournament will be held at the Gunmin Sports Park artificial turf field for 15 days from the 18th to August 1st. A total of 38 prestigious football teams and over 2,000 players are participating in this event.

The tournament will proceed with group preliminaries in 10 groups, followed by a knockout stage from the round of 20. The final match to determine the champion will take place on August 1st. Matches from the round of 20 to the final will be broadcast live daily on YouTube and other platforms.

To prepare for this tournament, the county has improved satisfaction with the facilities by introducing a remote-controlled night lighting system and providing water trucks. In addition, standby ambulances will be deployed at all times to ensure safety in case of emergencies. Notably, during the tournament, an international friendly match involving international teams will be held to foster a global mindset and provide opportunities for diverse cultural exchanges.

Along with this tournament, Hapcheon-gun is also hosting the Muhakgi National High School Football Tournament and the Queen's Cup National Women's Football Tournament, expecting a significant synergy effect for the revitalization of the local economy.
