On the same day, former President Trump stated on his social media platform Truth Social, "Due to the terrible incident yesterday, I considered postponing my visit to Wisconsin and the Republican National Convention schedule by two days, but I will not allow the shooter or assassination suspect to forcibly change my schedule or anything else." He added, "So I will depart as originally planned."

The U.S. Republican Party will hold the convention for four days starting on the 15th at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. At this event, former President Trump will be nominated as the Republican candidate for the upcoming November presidential election, and the running mate for vice president will be introduced.

The Republican Party decided to hold the convention as scheduled. On the third day, the 17th, the vice presidential candidate will deliver the acceptance speech, and on the 18th, former President Trump will give the presidential acceptance speech.
