KG Mobility (hereinafter KGM) announced on the 15th that it has finalized the name of the new sports utility vehicle (SUV) developed under the project name 'J120' as 'ACTYON' and will begin pre-orders.
KGM unveiled the design of ACTYON, scheduled for release in August, and started pre-orders. ACTYON is positioned as a sleek and dynamic coupe-style urban SUV.
The name 'ACTYON' is inherited from the first-generation model introduced by KGM in 2005 as the world's first SUC (Sports Utility Coupe) concept. It carries the meaning of continuing the authenticity of a traditional SUV brand with a 70-year history.
When the first-generation ACTYON was launched, the name was created as a compound of 'Action' and 'Young,' symbolizing youth. Through this, it expressed a dynamic image of individuality, change, and challenge. The newly introduced ACTYON adds the meanings of 'Act+Young' and 'Act+On' to the existing ones. It signifies acting young and initiating activity, embodying KGM's determination to lead a new beginning.
ACTYON will start pre-orders nationwide from today through over 270 KGM dealerships and a dedicated website. The official launch is scheduled for August.
A KGM official stated, "The newly launched ‘ACTYON’ embodies KGM’s spirit of new challenges," adding, "While inheriting the first-generation ACTYON, which was the starting point for coupe-style SUVs, we will continue the legacy as a domestic brand with a 70-year history and demonstrate continuous development."
