Yuseonghun, Geumcheon-gu Mayor, Holds Communication Meeting with Parents from 32 Elementary, Middle, and High Schools

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it held the "Parent Communication Meeting for the Development of Geumcheon Future Education" for parents of 32 elementary, middle, and high schools in the area over four days starting from the 8th.

The parent communication meeting, held for the first time in three years since 2021, was organized to gather diverse opinions from parents, the actual users of the district's education policies, and to collectively consider the future direction of education in Geumcheon.

The meetings were held over four days: on the 8th for nine elementary schools in the Gasan and Doksan areas, on the 10th for nine elementary schools in the Siheung area, on the 11th for five high schools, and on the 12th for nine middle schools. The sessions included presentations on major educational projects of the district, followed by listening to parents' suggestions and providing responses.

The Parent Association, together with Mayor Yu Seong-hoon, explored the direction for Geumcheon-gu's education policies and shared various opinions to solidify and develop educational projects.

Mayor Yu Seong-hoon shared the news that Geumcheon-gu ranked 9th among 25 autonomous districts in the public education environment satisfaction survey conducted last year, highlighting this valuable achievement as the result of the district's unique specialized education policies such as "Geumbit School" and "Clean School," which he shared with the parents.

In particular, during this meeting, major district issues such as the "Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Spatial Innovation Zone Pilot Project related to the Air Force Base site development" and the "announcement including Gasan Digital Station on the GTX-D Line" were introduced to raise parents' interest in the region.

Attending parents expressed their thoughts, saying, "This opportunity allowed us to consider various educational issues together with the district office outside of school," and "We hope that opportunities for continuous communication will be created in the future."

Mayor Yu Seong-hoon of Geumcheon-gu stated, "Following the school principals' communication meeting held last April, this parent communication meeting is a meaningful occasion to hear opinions from various educational stakeholders through direct meetings," and added, "We will actively carry out administration and strengthen on-site communication to establish education policies tailored to the district's characteristics for the development of Geumcheon education."
