Gyeonggi-do Opens Applications for Menstrual Product Support for Adolescent Girls... Until August 23 Gyeonggi-do Female Adolescents Menstrual Products Universal Support Project Information Poster

Gyeonggi Province will begin the second round of online applications for universal menstrual product support for female adolescents starting from the 15th.

Gyeonggi Province announced that it will accept support applications from female adolescents born between 2006 and 2013 (including foreigners) residing in 21 cities and counties within the province who did not apply in the first round or are newly relocated.

The universal menstrual product support project for female adolescents was first launched by Gyeonggi Province in 2021, making it the first metropolitan local government in the country to do so. It provides 13,000 KRW per month per person, up to a maximum of 156,000 KRW annually, for purchasing menstrual products, paid in local currency specific to the city or county.

The issued local currency can only be used to purchase menstrual products and is accepted at convenience stores (CU, GS25, 7-Eleven, Emart24) in the applicant’s city or county of residence. The support funds must be used by December 31 of this year, and any unused amount will be automatically forfeited.

The second application period is open until August 23 via the Gyeonggi Civil Service 24 website (gg24.gg.go.kr). However, application dates vary by city and county, so confirmation is necessary.

Offline applications can be submitted at the administrative welfare centers in the applicant’s town or township until November 15. The adolescent applicant, their guardian, or primary caregiver may apply.

A Gyeonggi Province official stated, "Applicants for the menstrual product voucher support program for female adolescents from basic livelihood security recipients, legally designated low-income groups, or single-parent families, which is implemented by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, are not eligible for duplicate support."
