The U.S. Republican Party will hold its convention as scheduled from the 15th despite the shooting incident involving former President Donald Trump. With the shooting expected to strongly rally Trump's supporters and garner sympathy from moderate voters, the Republican Party is anticipated to use this convention to solidify the 'Trump momentum.'

Republicans to Hold National Convention from the 15th Despite 'Trump Shooting'... Solidifying the 'Trump Dominance' Theory

The Republican Party will hold a four-day convention from the 15th to the 18th at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with the attendance of the injured former President Trump.

At this convention, former President Trump will be officially nominated as the Republican presidential candidate, and his running mate, the vice-presidential candidate, will be announced. On the third day of the convention, the 17th, the vice-presidential candidate will deliver an acceptance speech, and on the final day, the 18th, former President Trump will give his acceptance speech as the presidential candidate, presenting the policy vision for a second Trump administration.

Having been the Republican presidential candidate for the third time following the 2016 and 2020 elections, former President Trump secured the delegates needed to confirm his candidacy in March with overwhelming support in the Republican primaries that began in January.

Following his decisive victory in the presidential TV debate held late last month, former President Trump plans to solidify the Trump momentum at this convention. The strategy includes holding the convention in Wisconsin, a battleground state that will determine the election outcome, to start rallying support early.

Moreover, with the shooting incident involving former President Trump occurring the day before, a rallying effect among his supporters is expected, increasing the likelihood that the election's balance will tilt in his favor. Immediately after the shooting, Trump was evacuated surrounded by security guards but showed resilience and strength by clenching his fists multiple times. Supporters cheered, shouting "USA."

In this context, there is speculation that former President Trump will send a message emphasizing unity at this convention. On the same day, he wrote on Truth Social, the social media platform he created, "At this moment, we must unite and show our true American spirit," adding, "It is more important than ever to act strongly and decisively to prevent evil from prevailing."

The speakers at this Republican convention, held as originally planned, include many famous figures such as Trump's running mate candidates and celebrities. Senator Marco Rubio, Senator J.D. Vance, and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, all mentioned as potential vice-presidential candidates, are on the speaker list. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who ran in the presidential primaries but withdrew midway, is also included. However, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, who competed with Trump until the end, is not on the list. Other speakers include far-right commentator Tucker Carlson, rapper Amber Rose, country singer Lee Greenwood, and UFC CEO Dana White.

The convention's daily themes are ▲15th: Making America Wealthy Again (Economy) ▲16th: Making America Safe Again (Immigration and Crime) ▲17th: Making America Strong Again (Foreign Affairs and Security) ▲18th: Making America Great Again (Overall Governance).
