US Trump Shooting: "Condolences to the American People"

The government stated that it "strongly condemns any form of political violence" in response to former President Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate in the United States, being shot during a campaign rally.

On the 14th, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveyed this stance in a government statement, saying, "We console the American people who must have been shocked by this incident, and the Korean people stand with the American people."


The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also emphasized, "Considering the seriousness of the matter, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy in the United States are closely monitoring related developments."


Earlier, on the 13th (local time), former President Trump was injured near his right ear by gunfire during a presidential campaign rally and left the scene. U.S. judicial authorities have classified the shooting as an attempted assassination and are investigating.
