On the 13th, YouTube "The word 'legal action' hits my mind hard"
"One word hits my mind strongly in the current issue. Legal action. This word is not for someone who has tried harder than anyone else."
Lee Dong-gook, a K League legend, criticized the Korea Football Association (KFA). He also continued to criticize the KFA's announcement of taking legal action against Park Joo-ho, who exposed the process of appointing the national team coach as a member of the Strengthening Committee.
On the 13th, Lee Dong-gook said through his YouTube channel community, "The issue of the national team coach is big. I have been watching for over five months and feel very disappointed," adding, "The process should have been good, but it seems it did not go as well as Korean football fans' worries and expectations."
He continued, "Now that trust is lost, I think it is not anyone's fault but everyone's own fault, and it is time for change," and said, "I will try to be a strength for the K League and the national team in many ways in the future. Please continue to support Korean football and give honest criticism as you do now."
Earlier, the Korea Football Association announced on the 8th that they had appointed coach Hong Myung-bo as the new head coach of the Korean national football team. This came about five months after dismissing former coach J?rgen Klinsmann in February and searching for a new coach.
The Korea Football Association dismissed coach J?rgen Klinsmann in February and failed to find a new head coach for five months. Although many coaching candidates were mentioned, the association appointed former Ulsan Hyundai coach Hong Myung-bo as the new head coach on the 8th.
The association's abnormal and opaque coach appointment process received much criticism. Park Joo-ho, a member of the KFA Strengthening Committee, exposed the national team coach appointment process, saying that the committee seemed to have practically predetermined a domestic coach.
In response, the association announced legal action against Park, accusing him of violating a confidentiality agreement. They also stated, "We seriously express concern and regret over the situation where Park distorted the activities of the Strengthening Committee and the coach appointment process from a subjective perspective in his SNS appearance video, causing great misunderstanding among the media and the public."
Younger players who played with coach Hong in the 2002 World Cup, such as Lee Chun-soo and Lee Young-pyo, also raised issues with the appointment process. Lee Chun-soo said, "The football world has the worst 'kkondae' culture," and added, "Park Joo-ho is fighting that alone. The seniors are at fault."
