On the 13th (local time), the Associated Press reported that authorities are treating the shooting incident at a Pennsylvania rally attended by former President Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, as an assassination attempt against the former president.
The Associated Press stated, "Two officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, discussed the ongoing investigation," and reported, "The Pennsylvania rally shooting is being investigated as an assassination attempt against the former president and leading Republican candidate."
