Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) has prepared an admission strategy briefing session ahead of the 2025 university entrance exam, which will have an increased proportion of early admissions compared to previous years.
The 2025 university entrance exam presents many variables such as an increase in medical school quotas and the expansion of integrated selection without a major, causing significant anxiety and concerns among examinees and parents. Additionally, according to the Korea Council for University Education, the proportion of early admissions is 79.6%, the highest in the past five years, making careful strategy planning more important than ever.
Accordingly, the district will hold the ‘2025 Early Admission University Entrance Exam Briefing Session (hereafter, the briefing session)’ at 10 a.m. on August 2 in the main auditorium of the district office to prepare for the upcoming early admissions.
Admission expert Kim Won-jung, director of Dugak Admission Research Institute, will serve as the lecturer for the briefing session.
The session will cover ▲analysis of successful early admission cases from the 2024 academic year ▲early admission application strategies by grade level ▲review of changes in early admission recruitment by university ▲final checklist before applying for early admission, and will address detailed questions through a Q&A session.
From August 5 to 10, a ‘1:1 Admission Consulting for Early Admission’ will also be intensively operated.
This is an opportunity to develop accurate and practical application strategies based on the examinee’s actual school records and grades. It helps confirm eligible universities and formulate application strategies linked to desired career paths.
The consultations will be conducted by teachers affiliated with the University Admission Guidance Support Group of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education’s Education Research and Information Center, as well as career and admission counseling experts.
Both the briefing session and admission consulting are open to any examinees or parents residing in Songpa-gu, and participation is free of charge.
Applications open at 9 a.m. on July 15 via the ‘SongpaRun’ website.
The briefing session will accept the first 300 applicants on a first-come, first-served basis. Admission consulting will recruit the first 150 applicants and then schedule individual consultation appointments. Consultations will be held for about 50 minutes at the SongpaRun Admission Learning Support Center and Head Center.

Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, stated, “We have prepared various admission support programs to reduce confusion among examinees and parents amid the rapidly changing admission environment,” adding, “We will do our best to provide necessary information not only for early admissions but also for regular admissions and final stages, helping examinees achieve their desired results.”
