Baekho, President of Seoul Metro, visited Seongsu Station on Line 2 on the 12th to conduct an on-site safety inspection.

President Baekho visited Seongsu Station on Line 2 to inspect safety measures due to concerns about safety accidents caused by congestion, as the number of passengers has surged (a 207% increase in boarding and alighting compared to 2014) recently due to corporate relocations and commercial area expansion.

President Baekho reviewed the congestion situation at the Seongsu Station entrances and examined improvement plans, conducting an on-site inspection including the installation of additional entrances.

Baekho, President of Seoul Metro, stated, “We are currently implementing order maintenance measures such as deploying additional safety personnel during rush hours at Seongsu Station and installing safety fences to separate passenger flow,” adding, “We will do our best to ensure safe and comfortable use for citizens by preparing congestion improvement measures such as adding new entrances.”
