Suspect in Pattaya Drum Murder Case Arrested in Cambodia

The suspect in the "Thailand Pattaya Drum Barrel Murder Case," who was apprehended in Cambodia and extradited to Korea, has been arrested.

On the 15th, Judge Jeong Ji-eun of the Changwon District Court in Gyeongnam issued an arrest warrant for A, a man in his 20s who was apprehended on the 12th on charges including robbery and murder, abandonment of a corpse, and attempted extortion, citing concerns about flight risk and destruction of evidence.

At around 12:55 p.m. that day, A headed to court to attend the warrant review hearing.

After getting out of the escort vehicle, A remained silent in response to reporters' questions about his motive, whether he committed the murder himself, and whether he admitted to and reflected on the crime.

Previously, A was identified as a suspect in the abduction and murder of a Korean man in his 30s in Pattaya, Thailand, and the abandonment of the body. He fled to Cambodia around May 9 and was apprehended in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, five days later.

Subsequently, at around 7:40 a.m. on the 10th, he was extradited to Korea via Incheon International Airport and escorted to the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency, which is in charge of the investigation.

B, another suspect in his 20s who was apprehended in Jeongeup, Jeonbuk on May 12, is currently under arrest and on trial, while C, a third suspect in his 30s, remains at large.
