Yeongyang County and Vietnam Hold International Exchange Meeting

Vietnamese Hoa Vang District Chief and Danang City Delegation Visit Yeongyang County

The Hoa Vang District Chief of Danang City, Vietnam, and the Danang City delegation visited Yeongyang County, Gyeongbuk, on the 11th to hold an international exchange meeting aimed at mutual cooperation for joint development and the promotion of friendship between the two regions.

The Danang City delegation, including Hoa Vang District Chief Phan Van Ton, focused the meeting on the status and achievements of ongoing international exchanges, as well as the friendly cooperation between the two cities.

This visit is particularly significant as it marks the first visit to Yeongyang County since the launch of the 8th popularly elected administration, following the sisterhood agreement signed in March 2018 and the Yeongyang County delegation's visit to Hoa Vang District led by County Chief Oh Dochang in March 2023.

The meeting was attended by County Chief Oh Dochang, County Council Chairman Kim Youngbeom, Danang City Vice Mayor Tran Chi Cuong, Hoa Vang District Chief Phan Van Ton, and 16 other related officials.

The discussion covered the roles of both cities for the successful implementation of the ongoing foreign seasonal worker program, the achievements and future support plans of the Saemaul pilot village project carried out over five years, as well as cooperation measures in agriculture, economy, education, and youth international exchanges.

In particular, both sides agreed to further expand exchanges in the agricultural sector and broaden cooperation to various fields for the mutual growth and development of both regions.

County Chief Oh Dochang stated, "I hope that not only the ongoing exchanges in agriculture and human resources but also active exchanges in education, culture, arts, and tourism will take place. Let us create an opportunity to further strengthen the friendly relationship between the two cities based on cooperation, including improving the human rights of Vietnamese women who have migrated to Yeongyang County."
