Sampyo Cement's 'Bluement' Boosts Eco-Friendly Image... Wins 'Korea Consumer Award'

Received Award in Eco-friendly Cement Sector
Trademark Application for Bluement Filed Last Month

Sampyo Cement announced on the 12th that it received the Grand Prize in the Eco-friendly Cement category at the '2024 Korea Consumer Awards' ceremony held on the 11th at The Plaza Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul.

Last month, Sampyo Cement filed a trademark application for 'BLUEMENT' to enhance the competitiveness of its specialized products and maximize differentiation. BLUEMENT is a compound word combining 'Blue,' the symbolic color of the Sampyo Group, and 'Cement,' with the logo dynamically designed as a recycling mark using 'Green' to convey an eco-friendly image.


The special cement independently developed by Sampyo Cement’s technology research institute demonstrates superior early strength compared to ordinary Portland cement (OPC) and shows excellent effectiveness in reducing carbon emissions. It is expected to significantly contribute to climate change response policies. The company plans to incorporate BLUEMENT into the names of its four special cement products to strengthen unity and identity.
