Hanwha Aero Leads Workforce Recruitment and Welfare Improvement for Aerospace Partners in Gyeongnam

On the 10th, Gyeongnam Province and Ministry of Employment aim to strengthen aerospace companies' capabilities
"Enhancing partner companies' competitiveness, a collective task for the manufacturing ecosystem"

Hanwha Aerospace is taking steps to strengthen the competitiveness of aerospace partners in Gyeongnam.

On the 11th, Hanwha Aerospace announced that it signed a 'Win-Win Agreement for Improving the Dual Structure of Gyeongnam Aerospace Manufacturing' together with Gyeongsangnam-do Province, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and aerospace companies in the Gyeongnam region at the Gyeongnam Provincial Government Office. The dual structure refers to a state where there is a significant gap in employment stability, wage disparity, and welfare benefits between primary contractors and subcontractors or between regular and non-regular workers.

First, Gyeongnam Province and the Ministry of Employment and Labor will provide 1 million KRW to workers employed by Hanwha Aerospace and Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) partner companies upon completing 3, 6, and 12 months of continuous service, and support employers with 500,000 KRW per month for worker labor costs.

Hanwha Aerospace will promote the smooth acquisition of new and skilled personnel, improvement of living conditions, and enhancement of welfare for aerospace companies in the Gyeongnam region. Support for partner company recruitment fairs, new personnel training programs, and operation of joint training centers will also be pursued.

Partner companies plan to provide incentives to long-term skilled technicians and conduct training to strengthen the capabilities of recruited personnel with support from Gyeongnam Province and the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

Son Jae-il, CEO of Hanwha Aerospace, said, "Strengthening the competitiveness of small and medium-sized partners is a task for all of us to create a healthy manufacturing ecosystem," adding, "We will strive to create synergy with government policies to enhance the capabilities of aerospace manufacturing partners through this agreement."

Meanwhile, about 50 people attended the agreement ceremony, including CEO Son Jae-il, Park Wan-su, Governor of Gyeongsangnam-do, Lee Jeong-sik, Minister of Employment and Labor, Yoon Jong-ho, Vice President of Korea Aerospace Industries, and Bang Nam-seok, CEO of Samwoo Metal Industry.
