Parts of the world are suffering from floods caused by abnormal weather. Amid this, a man from Scotland was seen leisurely fishing on a road filled with water, bringing a small joy to local residents.

British media outlets such as 'The Sun' reported on the 10th (local time) that a video taken in the small Scottish town of 'Peterhead' has become a hot topic on local social media.

The video shows a road filled with water up to ankle level due to recent flooding. A man wearing black pants and a shirt, along with a purple hat, brings a chair and a fishing rod and starts fishing in the middle of the flooded road. When people around him laugh and look at him, he raises his hand and gives a thumbs-up.

Earlier, the UK Met Office announced that the Aberdeenshire area, which includes Peterhead, experienced rainfall of 25 to 40 mm per hour. Some highland areas saw heavy downpours reaching 50 to 60 mm per hour. The sudden rain caused the northeastern region to be submerged in water.

The unexpected flooding left the villagers spending a gloomy morning, but seeing the man fishing brought them some comfort. One driver who came by in a car honked his horn in support of the man.

Train lines connecting Aberdeen and Inverness have been closed, and trains are operating at slower speeds for safety.

BBC reported that after analyzing data collected by recent weather stations, it is possible that a month's worth of rain fell all at once over the Peterhead area within a single day.
