According to Changwon City, in preparation for the summer season, the city has been conducting preliminary measures since April, including advance investigations of safety risk factors at water recreation areas. Following a step-by-step safety management system, proactive measures are being implemented such as ▲improvement and supplementation of safety facilities and equipment ▲deployment of safety management personnel on site and promotion of accident prevention ▲intensive monitoring and inspection of vulnerable water recreation areas. The city plans to focus its capabilities on safety management, especially by entering an emergency work system from mid-July to mid-August, when the number of visitors peaks.

Looking at the current status of water safety management in Changwon, the city completed maintenance of safety facilities at water recreation areas in May and expanded life jackets and safety equipment through projects such as operating free life jacket rental stations. Since June, safety management personnel have been proactively deployed at each water recreation area to focus on preventing accidents even before the official opening of the season.

In addition, the city is raising safety awareness among citizens by promoting water safety rules through safety campaigns, so that citizens can enjoy water activities safely on their own. During the peak season from mid-July to mid-August, the city will further strengthen its safety management by maintaining an emergency work system in close cooperation with related organizations such as districts, the city, and the province.

Park Seongok, Director of Safety Management, said, "We are doing our utmost to prepare in advance for the safety of visitors ahead of the full-scale water recreation season. If citizens' mature safety awareness is added to these efforts, everyone will be able to enjoy water activities in a safe and pleasant environment." He also urged, "We ask all citizens to strictly follow water safety rules."
