On the morning of the 10th at around 10:30 AM, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the 10th anniversary ceremony marking the delegation of the Nowon District Volunteer Center, held in the small auditorium of the district office under the theme "One Volunteer per Nowon Citizen, The Great Beginning."
The ceremony was organized to celebrate the 10th anniversary since the Nowon District Volunteer Center was entrusted to the Nowon Education Welfare Foundation, reflecting on its achievements so far and outlining a blueprint for revitalizing volunteer activities in Nowon District.
The Nowon District Volunteer Center has served as a hub for voluntary private activities aimed at spreading a sustainable volunteer culture in Nowon District. It practices volunteer work in various fields together with 160,000 volunteers, volunteer camps established in 19 neighborhood community centers, and numerous volunteer organizations.
The commemorative event was attended by about 180 people, including Mayor Oh Seung-rok, city council members, district council members, volunteers, and related personnel, and was divided into two parts.
The first part included a congratulatory performance, opening remarks, commemorative speeches, congratulatory addresses, a report on project progress, awards for volunteer merit, a 10th anniversary celebration ceremony, and a commemorative photo session. The second part featured a seminar on practicing carbon-neutral volunteering, providing time for discussion on carbon neutrality.
Mayor Oh Seung-rok of Nowon District said, "Congratulations on the 10th anniversary of the Nowon District Volunteer Center," and urged, "I hope you will continue to play a greater role in the development of the local community through active volunteer activities."
